PANIC ATTACK

Since I’ve discussed agoraphobia and panic attacks in a recent radio interview, and since I haven’t shared a poem for a while, I thought it would be an opportune time to share this one:

PANIC ATTACK

Chest pounding
Heart racing
Sucking hard

heavy air
Off balance
Losing all

composure
Sight unclear
Intense fear

takes a grip
Dying threats
Regrets fill

sinking mind
Paralyzed
No way to

escape now
To hell with
self-reliance!
