This Thanksgiving, due to circumstances, it was only my husband and I for dinner.
Not even listening to his suggestion to enjoy a traditional meal at a nearby restaurant, I was determined to stay home and cook everything myself. After all, I have plenty of free time, right?
Preparation of our small turkey with all of the fixings took about five hours—not so bad considering.
But, it only took us about 10 minutes to eat it—12 minutes tops.
Then, there was at least an hour of clean up afterwards. At least!
Was it really worth it all?
My youngest son may say yes. He came by later on for a visit and departed with plenty of leftovers.
And I’m just about ready to enjoy a nice big turkey sandwich, complete with cranberry sauce and stuffing. (My mouth is watering already.)
Maybe next year, if it’s just the two of us again, I should listen to my husband.
