The reason why I haven’t been blogging much lately is because I’m in the middle of the editing process for my second novel in Woolen Bikinis (the sequel to in Polyester Pajamas). It is forming into a really good story, thanks to the great suggestions from my editor, but it is also requiring a lot of hard work and time. Having already spent hours and hours and hours (and days and days and days) of writing, rewriting, rereading, etc., I’m convinced a person has to be crazy to even consider writing a book. (Guess I’m crazy then! Yeah, I love every minute of it!)
The new tablet my sons gave me for Christmas has come in handy with the editing. It helps me see repetitive and misspelled words more clearly, and whenever I do a rewrite on the computer, I can also scroll forward quickly on the tablet to make sure the changes remains consistent throughout.
If you’re a writer and haven’t used multiple devices for editing yet, try it out. It’s amazing how something can be missed on one device, but stands right out on the other. When I think I’m finished with all of the rewrites, I’ll also put the manuscript on my Kindle (a gift from my sister) and read through it one more time, just to be sure.
FYI – in Woolen Bikinis is due to be released this June. I’ve already seen the spec for the cover and I know you’re going to love it. I’ll share it here as soon as I can!
