Wolfe’s Angel

My husband and I just returned from a wonderful (and much needed) vacation in North Carolina. We stayed in and around the Asheville area and, I have to say, it’s a great area to visit. Temps were in the 60s for most of the time we were there – perfect weather for us!

For the next few days, I’ll be sharing some of the photos we took in our travels. Thought I’d start with this one taken in Hendersonville, a beautiful town about 30 miles from Asheville.

(I haven’t read Look Homeward Angel yet. I’ll have to check it out.)

Ed and I love the Asheville area. I hope you visited the Biltmore and took a ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway. If not, you need to go back!!

We love the area also and we will go back! Unfortunately, we weren’t able to get to Biltmore this time around, although we wanted to. Next time for sure! Visited a section of the Blue Ridge Parkway and the views were amazing. So much more to do!! I’ll share more in the next few days.

We have a timeshare not too far from Asheville in Pickens, SC that we go to during Thanksgiving week each year. We love that whole area. This year I want to visit Carl Sandburg’s home in Flat Rock, NC just outside of Hendersonville. Living in Florida is awesome, but mountains are in my blood and I will always feel their absence when I look at the horizon . Spending time in the Blue Ridge Mountains once a year is a good substitute for the NH mountains! Life is about trade offs!
